Tonic Water vs. Club Soda: What's the Fizz?

Planning a party or just thirsty? You've probably faced the tonic water vs. club soda dilemma. While both are bubbly and often used as mixers, they're far from interchangeable.

Club soda is simply carbonated water, sometimes with added minerals. Think of it as a blank canvas – it adds fizz without altering the drink's flavor. It's a great choice when you want the taste of your spirit or juice to shine.

Tonic water, on the other hand, is carbonated water with added quinine, giving it a distinctive bitter flavor. It's also sweetened, usually with sugar or high-fructose corn syrup. The quinine was originally added for medicinal purposes, but now it's mostly there for that signature tang we associate with a Gin and Tonic.

So, choose club soda when you want pure fizz and tonic water when you crave that bittersweet kick. Cheers!
